Problem Nature and Extent

Aries Engineering completed the design and implementation of a remedial action to remove hazardous waste identified in subsurface soils for a portion of a facility owned by a Fortune 100 client in Cranston, Rhode Island.

With an operating budget of $150,000, our services were conducted on a 5-acre portion of the site located in a mixed residential/commercial area.

  • RIDEM Remedial Action Design & Work Plan preparation

  • Cutting/capping of utility lines

  • Removal of a leaking transformer

  • Development of specifications for PCB & PAH impacted soil excavation

  • Contractor selection assistance including bid evaluation

  • Verification and staking of property lines, and property map preparation

  • Soil Remediation monitoring and verification sampling

  • Site perimeter monitoring for dust

  • Remedial Action Completion Report preparation

These services were initiated in September on a fast track basis, and were completed in January. They included the preparation of detailed remediation design plans and development of specifications for PCB and PAH impacted soil remediation, contractor selection assistance including bid evaluation, soil remediation monitoring, remediation verification sampling/analyses and preparation of a Remediation Completion Report.

We also performed general industrial hygiene management services that included site perimeter monitoring for dust.
